Painting Competition Winners Oct 2009:

Entrants were invited to submit a painted character. There wer two categories, the 10 and under and the over 10's.

Winner of the 10 and over category: None other than the Ork-king Mr Jason Thomas himself, for his excellent 40K Ork Warboss entry (OK Jason, correct us, which model was it exactly now??).

Runner-up in the over 10 years category: Newcomer Miss Meg McCann for her super purple-themed Daemonette of Slaanesh entry. Hey, just who took these photos?! You can't see the models! (Better luck next time (ed.))

Winner of the under 10 years category: Plucky Master Thomas McCann, for his awesome Commissar Yarrick (OK, Thomas, now you're going to tell me it wasn't that at all - hey, it was a long time ago, I have a short memory!, (ed.)). My word, another terrible model photo - sack that photographer!

Arthur Pimenta, who was the winner in our Fall Mid-Term Hobby Camp for his amazing unit of Imperial Guard. Fantastic job Arthur!

iron halo awards

The Iron Halo program was established to assist young hobbyists to achieve a certain level of proficiency in the various aspects of the Games Workshop hobby. Credits were awarded once the participant completed an activity. These were selected from a number of different activities for modelling, painting and gaming and there had to be a balanced mix of activities spread across these three main groups. Once 10 credits were obtained, the participant was awarded the coveted Iron Halo badge and Certificate to convince the world they had achieved their goal!

Here we present the determined little souls who took part in this venture and made it to the bitter end!

Aidan Jacobson, who took great pleasure when it came to making some awesome head conversions with a vice and a hobby saw (Marie Antoinette springs to mind!)
