Kick the New Year off with a challenge your Chapter Master would be honoured to be a part of!
There will also be a $20 gift certificate for the runner-up and a $10 gift certificate for third place.
The dragon model consists of a High Elf Prince mounted on a young Sun Dragon. Dragons have great fanged mouths from which they can breathe scorching gouts of flame over their enemies, and taloned claws sharp enough to slice through stone. A Dragon’s wings are immense, able to bear it effortlessly through the sky. But now, in colossal caverns found deep within the Dragonspine Mountains, the dragons sleep away the centuries, as a mysterious languor has caused more and more dragons to enter a slumber from which only the mages and princes of Caledor can wake them. To ride into battle upon the back of a mighty dragon is an ancient tradition in the realm of Caledor that sings in the blood of the Elves.
*Warhammer rules state that you must have at least a 2,000 point army to field a Lord but School League rules permit smaller army units to field a Lord.

Judgement Day:
Judging will take place on March 4th 2009 at GameShack, Grand Harbour, at 4pm. Winners will be notified via phone/e-mail and entered onto our web site Hall of Fame. You are of course most welcome to attend the judging event itself. The prize giving will be made either on the day of judging or at a later date if the winner is not present.
Judges will take into account the following criteria:
Contestant’s Age: Contestants will be given a score out of 100 based on the skill levels expected for their age group, so don’t worry about older contestants taking part, you stand just as much chance of winning if you’re a capable painter.
Modelling – judges will check how well the model is assembled, such as the quality of joins and the use of filler (green stuff) where appropriate. Marks will be awarded for level of difficulty in a model. Contestants who submit conversions, dioramas, etc. will be awarded additional marks as considered appropriate. The proper application of glues will also be taken into account.
Painting – judges will look at the overall quality of the finished product and the techniques used to paint the model, such as highlighting, layering, use of washes, drybrushing, etc.. They will also check the completeness of the painted model and the use of undercoating, and how well the models have been based. Contestants should submit a short description of the painting techniques used in their creation.
So good luck everyone, may the best crusader win!
